We have supported the Christian Emergency Food Centre for a number of years, but they need support from the local community. They receive very little government funding and therefore rely heavily on public donations, whether it be monetary, food items or even their time.
Cafe Jas Food Centre will now be a receival point for the following items –
Cereal, Pasta, Pasta Sauce, 2 Minute Noodles, Spaghetti (can), Rice, Jam, Vegemite, Peanut Butter, Coffee, Tea, Sugar, Fruit (tin).
We will deliver them to the Christian Emergency Food Centre to be disbursed to those who struggle with day to day living difficulties.
We are very excited and hope you join us in supporting the Cafe Jas Food Centre

On the 22nd Feb Sharron from Café Jas is hosting a charity fundraiser to raise money for Bright Futures Child Aid and Development. Sharron and 2 of her friends are heading to India later in the year so they were inspired to not only contribute as volunteers but in a financial capacity as well.
So why did they choose India?
Here's a little backstory...
Sharron's Uncle, Paul Madden is Chief Executive of The Wyatt Trust and Chair of both World Relief Australia and the Social Impact Investment Network SA. He has held senior roles with Mission Australia, Baptist Community Services SA, and Habitat for Humanity and undertaken major projects on behalf of the government in the areas of child abuse prevention and Indigenous substance misuse.
As co-founder and voluntary Executive Officer of Bright Futures Child Aid & Development Fund Australia, he continues to be involved in international development projects in India, Kenya, Pakistan, and Uganda.
So with this connection it made sense to ask him what they could do to add value to others. So that's where the conversation started followed by a powerful video (you can check out the video below)
that led them to volunteer in India.
A little bit about Bangalore City Mission:
What started as 8 children in the front room of Jonathan's parents house is now a massive school that
educates over 1000 children every year and they only choose children who cannot afford to pay for their education, every year they have privileged children approach them to attend school as the quality of education at Sinclair's is of a very high standard, they have to say no to these children so they have room to educate as many poor children as possible.
Sinclair's High School provides education so these children who would otherwise never rise up out of their caste, have a future, they have hope.
If this story and video touches your heart, we invite you buy a ticket at Café Jas for a fun night of wine, canapes, live music by Kessia Peterson, silent auction and raffle.
Tickets are $25 each and proceeds from the night will be donated to Bright Futures Child Aid and Development supporting Bangalore City Mission.
